"Fine Example of Elizabethan architecture. "

Build in the 16th Century, Ormond Castle is recognized to be the most preserved Elizabethan estate house in Ireland. Tour of the castle gives an excellent overview of Elizabethan architecture. The most prominent feature of this house is the decorative plasterwork, including portraits in the 'staterooms' which present some of the finest examples of the craft in the country.
