"A holy temple flooded with rats"

Karni Mata Temple is one of India’s strangest attractions owing to the abundance of rodents here. The Legend has it that on the refusal of death-god Yoma to reincarnate the son of a grieving storyteller, Karni Mata decreed that all the family members of the storyteller will be reincarnated as rats on death. The sacred tradition is to enter bare-footed in the temple, and the devouts consider it propitious if one of the rats run across your feet.
