This is one of the most upscale areas of San Francisco. There are two major landmarks here - The Fairmont Hotel and The Mark Hopkins. There are other lovely buildings and steep hills. We loved our stroll in and around Nob Hill. It was a great neighborhood. The climbs can be tiring, but a great locale.

Nob Hill, San Francisco Nob Hill is a neighborhood in San Francisco, California, centered on the intersection of California Street and Powell Street. It is one of San Francisco's 44 hills, and one of its original "Seven Hills." Prior to the 1850s, Nob Hill was called California Hill . It was renamed after the Central Pacific Railroad's Big Four – called the Nobs – built mansions there. Source:Wikipedia |
