The paintings are mostly church related, for whom likes it. Book before your visit. I visited in June..the crowd is impressive and one can wait at the entrance for hours.

Out Of This World : Words can not describe this place. I've been here many times since 2001 and always go back when in Firenze. The leather school in the back makes very nice stuff too which is a bonus after viewing the richness of this church. In the Christmas season it's always a joy to visit.

Charming Place : Beautiful, beautiful works of art and essential to visit. Beware arriving in the couple of hours before closing as we did... The staff are keen to get home and start locking areas up and closing the shutters long before the official closing time so we paid full price but missed lots.

Beauty At Its peak : One of the prime examples of beautiful architecture that influenced many others to come. This piece of architecture was created before the invention of gravity and only a jeweler could figure it out. I won't say any more, but the view from the too is incredible. Simply Outstanding : Although it is true that directions and gallery/exhibition information are somehow confusing the Archaeological Museum and the adjacent Correr Museum is great. You need a little patience to figure out how exhibitions and individual displays are organized but if you're a fan (like me) it shouldn't be a major problem.

Simply Outstanding : The heart of Renaissance Florence. The exterior is a masterpiece, the interior is worth a visit but not nearly as elaborate at the facade. The dome is amazing. To visit the interior, go late in the day when the queue is shorter. Seeing the building lit up at night is a good experience.

Out Of This World : Once the Medici family palace, this beautiful gallery is packed full of wonderful art. Some rooms are a bit overwhelming, but most are small enough to be accessible. There's only one way through and ropes close off certain doorways so you can't take a shortcut out so make sure you have lots of time to appreciate everything.

Great Place : The collection is located in a beautiful palazzo close to the Arno River. We were the only two people there at the time and we were "stalked" during our entire visit. We were given a paper guide which was supposed to tell you about the artifacts but it was impossible to figure out the layout.

Cool Experience : Very cool monastery with attached museum of Chinese and Egyptian artifacts, including a mummy. Easy to get to Fiesole by bus, walking is without good sidewalks. Biking is a challenge. final walk in Fiesole is uphill. Great views of Florence too. Fiesole is a day trip and a good one.

Nice Place : This is a small museum off the typically beaten tourist path but well worth it. The fee is only 4 euros and you can go through in less than two hours. The translation of an image into mosaic is astounding. Please make this a must see. Upstairs is a room with the benches, tools, and fabulous 'pietre dure' used to create the pieces.

Really Amazing : If you go to Fiesole, do what the local Tourist Info suggested to do: take the Via Vecchia Fiesolana down to the San Domenico Convent where you can take the Bus 7 back to Firenze. It is the original street that connected the city and the villas the mightly families built in Fiesole.

Very Informative : Cappelle Medicee is a must-go-to location in Firenze. Famous statues by Michelangelo are located in the Chapel. The organization of the chapel makes it easy to follow through and read the historical information. The tour guides/staff are also very helpful, knowledgeable, and informed about the chapel and its history. You must go to this location when in Florence! Especially if you like history!

Wonderful Place : If the queues at the Academia or the Duomo are off-putting, try this lovely museum. Three floors of mixed statuary, textiles, ceramics and smaller items created around a central courtyard will keep you occupied for a good few hours. It seems to be overlooked by most of the tours and I highly recommend a visit. Not expensive but there a number of steps to climb..

Nice Church : Must see church in Florence, the decoration is sumptuous late baroque filled with gold and marble, while the building is rennaisance and gothic, please be respectful of the mass which happens almost all the time. The pews face the door and a sacred painting believed to be painted by an Angel. Dare I say more interesting than the duomo.

Old charm: Villa medicea di Poggio a Caiano has a very modern design. The outside of the rooms have an explanation cards ( be sure to read them). The villa was starting to show some signs of aging but the decorative style was brilliant.
