Prominent Cremation Place in Varanasi: This is one of the oldest and most prominent ghats in Varanasi and is located at the banks of River Ganges. Hindus from far-flung places bring the dead bodies of their loved ones here for cremation. There is legend attributed to this ghat that says that the person whose dead body gets cremated at this ghat will get salvation. |

Bustling with activity: One of Varanasi’s most vibrant and vivid ghats, its name comes from the legend that Brahma sacrificed ten horses here. Teeming with flower sellers, massage and boat owners, it is a wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy the atmosphere. |

Main Burning Ghat in Varanasi: Life is to end. Your strength, vigour, beauty and brilliance are all to perish. The one who moves has to rest at last. There are places that remind one of the mortality of life; Manikarnika Ghat is one of them. It is a main burning ghat in Varanasi and a promising place for a Hindu to be cremated. |
