Exciting Experience : Really beautiful location: went at sunset on a weekday and practically had it to ourselves. Stunning view across the Duddon estuary to Black Coombe. Hiking average distance, very nice. We had the chance to see the seals having fun on the water.
Just Amazing : We had a great four days here. The room was comfortable with a sea view (and a certain telephone box visible). The food was good with breakfasts offering a good choice and the ‘full scottish’ being very filling. Evening meals were even better with a good variety, (loved the Cullen Skink), and we tried all but the vegetarian option, my favourite being the Thai Green Curry!
Worth A Visit : A wonderfully beautiful estate, with the most incredible walks and wildlife. Fantastic forestry, beautiful buildings, stunning scenery, and pleasant parks. Haddo House estate is a peaceful safe haven for individuals, couples, and families, for the young and old alike. Highly recommended!
Stunning garden in a beautiful location: This beautiful garden is located in the town of Pitmedden. A great place to visit during the summers and there's plenty of parking available. The garden has its own charm. Ladybirds, butterflies and bees in the sculptured hedges with pretty looking blossoms. This garden is a great day out.
A beautiful and peaceful spot: This place was so picturesque that it nearly filled up my social media account in a day. We loved the views, the stroll, the food we had enjoying the view and the fact that the landscape was so beautiful. Gorgeous mountains and a well-maintained pathway for a stroll makes this place a lovely place.
Highly Recommended: Very friendly and brilliant place to go to, golf course is fabulous also, a must to play and sample the delights in the restaurant, would highly recommend, bar staff are exceptional and you always get a smile and a warm welcome.
Scenic Surroundings and Fascinating Portraits. : It is one of the largest tower houses in Scotland. The Castle is extraordinarily interesting and captivating thanks to its fascinating collection of portraits and historic treasures.
The view of the surroundings atop the round tower is remarkable.
Some of the quirky features include a spy hole, secret staircases, and Laird’s Lug.
Natural Surroundings : My favourite garden to visit. Superb herbaceous borders are a particular highlight as well as the historic yew hedges. And on top of that there is the Castle and the outdoor activities. Well worth a visit at any time of year but especially mid to late summer for the herbaceous borders.
Highly Recommended : Another rainy day sightseeing! I was very impressed with this museum. I took the guided tour to the top of the lighthouse, stopping off in a couple of rooms on the way up. A step back in time. Then onwards and upwards to the top to see the lamp, reflector and working mechanism.
